i recently got my hair cut, it was a little past my shoulders, now is pretty short. most of the women in my office say they really like it, but only a few men said anything at all - and it is a big difference. It makes me feel bad if i dont look good.

anyway they prefer a "short haired but happy woman" than a "long haired sad woman".

Naturally some men will prefer stereotypical long hair on a woman, perhaps because they associate short hair with women who are bull dikes, other more enlightened and tolerant men will see short hair for the fashion trend that it is.

The most important thing you must determine is the reason you decided to opt for the your choice of hairstyle in the first place. We all want others to view us as attractive, but that just isn't realistic, different strokes for different folks and all that.

My suggestion is to give it time, see how others react over 6 months or a year, if you find you're still self conscious about it, perhaps for your peace of mind you might want to decide to change your style. In the mean time just enjoy. Hey you spent money for it, work it.
