I'm 41 this year and wondered if there is a point in your life that you should have your hair cut off short. What do you think?

Look at Sophia Loren and Catherine Deneuve who have long hair and are often voted as the most beautiful women of our age. Enjoy yourself and just choose a style that suits your face and lifestyle.

Nowadays women usually keep their hair long. It's easier to care for than short hair, and looks nicer.

NO! I think that most short haircuts make a woman look older. If you like having longer hair, keep it! Some women look great with short hair (Winona Ryder is a good example), but I think a lot of women fall victim to the "Oh, I don't have time to bother with my hair" syndrome, whether its kids, or career or whatever.

That may sound mean, and I don't mean it to. I think there's something very lovely about a woman who has long hair when she's 50, 70 or 100. :)

i think it doesn't matter at what age you get your hair cut short ...it depends more on your face shape....for example...if u have a heart shaped or oval face like mine..short hair would really suit you....im 14 and i just got my long hair cut quite short today n i think it really suits me :)

i think having short hair is prettier, everyone at school had it cut, long hair is really ugly believe me, best style whenyou have it long (till half of your neck) at the front then very short at the back, this suits dark hair better, blonde hair should be about shoulder hair, go to hair styles on google and it will tell you all about the styles thatsuits you

im 42 and had my hair cut short this week, not mammy short but trendy chopped style, tried to look 20 for the last 22 years but realised it just looked silly, have to say done wonders for my morale, proud to be the mother of six from 24 to aged three, think its time to have a new look ,hard to change with the times ,but still feel twenty inside, you will feel a whole new you, think positive, think WOW why was i hiding behind all that hair i look great x

i don't think there is an age to cut it all off... whatever you feel comfortable with. thinning hair would probably look better short. some older women would look daft with long hair, and some look daft with short hair. what ever suits you is best!!

I went through the same thing when I turned 40 last year %26amp; decided I was 'too old' to continue to have long hair. I had it all cut off %26amp; looked rediculous. Its looking better now its grown in a bit %26amp; I'll never do that again.

Just keep to what you know suits you. If long hair suits you then stick to it.

Depends what you look like! But seriously, from 40 onwards, the hair should start to get shorter. I can't think of many women from 45 plus, even celebrities who look great with long flowing locks. It looks cheap. Especially if it's bleached. There must be a time when one lets go of youth and accepts getting old; with grace of course.
