i had long hair my whole life and always wanted to cut it short but was always afraid. do u think i should just get a trim... get a bob, pixie, buzz cut, chin lenght cut or shoulder lenght cut.. i think im ready to go drastic

WOW. if you can go drastic then you are braver than I am! All my life (well, most of it... except for that time my mom gave me a mullet and i was mortified for almost a year) I've had long hair. And i LOVE my long hair! My junior year in highschool i cut it to my shoulders and freaked. Now that I look back at pictures it was shorter than i even remember it being at the time! I just love long hair and all that you can do with it, but hey... if you are tired of it and want to try something different, then go for it! Just PREPARE yourself! It will definitely be something different. And, we are only on this earth for a short period of time, so go for it! You may even like it better! Always know though, if you don't like it, it will always grow back or you could always get a wig until it does! :o) (Just don't buy a wig from the same place as Britney Spears) You DO want it to look nice. :o) ... P.S. - seriously though, you may want to go into it step by step... a little this month,... a little more next month... or just do it all at once! My sister has a fun pixie kine of old style Meg Ryan bob and it's adorable. She's always finding cute, new barrettes to put in it. I am jealous of that b/c she can just grab a barrette and stick it anywhere in her hair and it looks amazing. I have to take a clump of mine, twist it together, stick the barrette in there and then it slides right on out b/c my hair is so straight and fine. There's good and bad to both short and long! HAVE FUN! And no matter what, you will be a hottie! :o)

Short hair looks very very pretty if you have a thin neck.

your face shape makes all the difference. If you have an oval face shape, go with a chin length. Round face? Go with a bob. Square faces look great with a pixie cut. If you're not sure what your face shape is, go to a mirror, get a bar of soap, trace your face shape on the mirror and see what it look most like. you'll know when you see it.

Get to maybe a shoulder length trim, keep the hair that was cut off as a souvineir if you really like it.

Well, very short hair do not suit all people, even if very long hair does. If you have delicate, feminine features like Halle Berry's, then do cut your hair.

Look in the mirror and be honest with yourself; do you have great facial features? If yes, then short hair will exhibit your asset. If no, it will only emphasize the faults.

it depends on the seasons. for summer i would get a bob and then let it grow out for winter. and then cut it again in the summer

inverted bob where the back is buzzed very short or even shaved it is a great look

cut your hair to the longest style you think you might like if you don't like it go shorter . You can always cut more but it takes a long time to grow it back.

P.S. personally I think you should keep it long and just find different ways to style it , but then I want my hair to go down to mid-thigh or longer
