No, you are right, it doesn't matter. If anything less hair probably makes you look thinner. I have an extra large friend who went to the barber and got the the number 2 clippers all the way around (short but not shaved) and he looked great.

Yes, I am fat and sure don't want mine short. I have tried it before, and it made my face look fatter. I know a friend that says short hair on a fat woman looks like a q tip on a blimp and she is fat and a beautician.....I think it makes the face look too full. longer hair covers part of the face and gives a longer appearance to it, not round and fat.................xx

Generally, it really doesn't make a difference. It's what the clients feels is right for them. I defiantly tell my clients the truth. Sometimes a cut may not look good on them because of their head shape, not their weight, but I make subtle changes to make it look better. Some cuts can make the head appear larger, but it can happen on thin or small framed people as well. Changing a style to fit the persons face shape, coloring and ability to style their own hair mean more to me as a cosmetologist.

A lot of times a shorter style can bring your face up and elongate your neck, but it has to fit you face shape or you could end up looking like a squirrel with big round cheeks

I used to have long hair but when I think about my last picture with long hair and my last picture with short hair I think my hair looks better short. My hair looks fuller and less thin.
